May 19th from 10am til 2pm at the Sorenson Unity Gardens
Spring time once again means our gardens are ready for the People's Market Seedling Swap and Sale! Share your starts from the Seed Swap with local gardeners, backyard farmers, and urban homesteaders. We are excited to be partnering with our community Unity Garden's at the Sorenson Center this year.
One of People's Market newer traditions, we're inviting the community to buy, sell and swap seedlings for the 2012 People's Market season. Hopefully, aspiring new market growers can bring back the fruits of their labor (litteraly) to share the harvest at People's Market this summer and fall.
3rd Annual Seedling Swap & Sale
Saturday, May 19, 2012 from 10am - 2pm
Sorenson Unity Gardens
1383 South 900 West
Salt Lake City, UT 84104
Bring your seedlings or come to find some additions for your garden, here's how:
Both buyers and swappers are invited to participate in our 3rd annual event. Everyone is welcome, from novice to seasoned farmhand. Many people find new varieties to try, so bring a box, and bring your favorites to share.
Our friends at Wasatch Community Gardens will be bringing orphaned plants from the annual Plant Sale, come adopt them!
If you will be bringing a larger number of plants, please contact us to sign up so we plan enough space for everyone. Swappers: bring your cups and trays to the garden, we will register you at the event. There is no fee to participate, the event is free and open to the public. You don't need a business license or tax number to sell agricultural products (like seedlings) that you grew yourself. Limited table space will be available.
